Cupping Therapy
Decompressive soft-tissue therapy that lifts and separates tissue layers — releasing tight fascia, increasing blood flow, and accelerating recovery.
Decompression, not compression
Most soft-tissue work presses tissue down. Cupping does the opposite — it creates a focused suction that lifts skin, fascia, and superficial muscle away from the deeper layers. That negative pressure decompresses adhesions, draws blood into the area, and gives the tissue room to move again.
What a session looks like
We assess the area, apply the cups to specific points, and either leave them stationary (typically 5–10 minutes) or glide them along the tissue for more dynamic release. You'll feel a strong but tolerable pull — most patients describe it as a deep, relieving stretch from the inside.
About the marks
Cupping often leaves circular discoloration where the cups sat. They look dramatic but aren't bruises — they're a sign of stagnant blood being drawn to the surface and flushed. Marks fade in three to seven days and don't hurt.
What we treat with it
Chronic neck and shoulder tightness, low-back tension, plantar fasciitis, IT band restrictions, post-workout recovery, and any area where layered tissue has lost its glide. We often pair cupping with adjustments and Manual Release for compounding effect.
